In the midst of all this H-1B hoopla, let’s also not lose sight of the bigger economic picture.

🇮🇳 Indian immigrants are ~ 1.4% of the U.S. population.

Yet:

💰They founded roughly 8% of all technology startups in the United States

💰 India is the top origin of immigrant founders of U.S. unicorns (which create ~859 jobs per company on average)

💰They lead approximately 4% of Fortune 500 companies.

💰Their businesses generate over $150 billion in annual revenue

💰 They employ more than 800,000 workers nationwide.

Indians make up about 70% of H-1B visa holders, yet many face visa uncertainty and decades-long waits - sometimes over 100 years - for green cards.

If our goal is to strengthen the U.S. economy and expand opportunities for American workers, let’s prioritize giving green cards to the very people who are driving innovation and creating jobs here.
