The White House has announced a proclamation that will bar all H-1B holders from entering the U.S. starting Sunday, September 21, 2025, unless employers pay a $100,000 fee per petition.

This order will almost certainly face court challenges as exceeding presidential authority.

Our recommendation:

  • Do not travel abroad if you are an H-1B holder.
  • If you are outside the U.S., return before Sunday to avoid being locked out.

We will continue to monitor developments and provide updates.
